Albuquerque Hollyhock
My wife and I love the state of New Mexico for its desert, the
color of the sky, the ruggedness of its mountains, and the food
cooked with the chiles grown in the area. It is the 47th State in
our Union, and its strong ties to Mexico and to the Native
American Indians are reflected in its culture.
On one trip, I took a lot of photos--from cliff dwellings to the
various craftsmen selling their wares in the town plazas.
But one simple picture taken near the mission church in
Albuquerque brought back the fondest memories. It became
the basis of a painting.
Albuquerque Hollyhock is a collage of watercolor and rice
paper, painted on 30" x 20" illustration board. The original is
available, and giclee
prints are available.
Giclee reproductions are on archival paper. The colors of the giclee are as close as possible to the original, however some differences may occur.
