#Framed Giclee Print - Tybee in March - Prints Only
Tybee in March

The most eastern point of Georgia is Tybee Island.  There,

a lighthouse was built in 1736 to mark the coast and to guide

vessels up the Savannah River to the town of Savannah,

about 20 miles away.  The structure has been rebuilt several

times, and the current one, which is shown in the painting,

was finished in 1867 and is 94 feet tall.  Around the lighthouse

are the remains of various buildings that formed Fort Screven

which were constructed in the early 1900s.  For an artist,

it is difficult and perhaps even impossible, not to feel the

need to capture the colors and mood of the location.  I'm sure

there are thousands of paintings of the subject.  Nevertheless

this is mine-- and it probably won't be my last attempt at

expressing my feelings when I think of this

beautiful place.

Tybee in March is a watercolor, painted on

15" x 11" 140# cold press paper.  The original has been sold, but a framed giclee print is available.

A few unframed giclee prints are available.
